1000w in a cool tube

Anyone have any problems running 1000w growbrights in a cooltube? I ran a new bulb and ballast for two months and when I went to move my shit around I noticed what looks like a burned bulb. bulb still runs and all, just really cloudy (a metallic cloudy). I also noticed that the size of the bulb made it droop down and almost touch the glass part of the cooltube. anyone else seen this problem? My tent temps were normal the entire grow.
