I was looking on Ebay at Pen type PH meters in the $20-$30 dollar range form china - either direct or via Australia. Does anyone have experience with these. It would be to replace PH test solution.

great investment, those tabs are annoying. Make sure you calibrate it at least once a month. buy test solution #4 and #7

I had one and could never get it calibrated right. Then I spent $60 for one that works great and is easy to calibrate. Just my experience.

ya herbs right, go with a more expensive one, I believe mine was closer to a hundred bucks

I had a cheap one, I'd calibrate it then it would tell me my tap water had a ph of 5.2 a week later. It doesn't even turn on now...

This is what I use, calibrates itself. I hate those little screws on the back of the cheap ones. Auto shut off too, no wasted batteries.
