how long till they show sex???
Ok, so these plant (the biggest ones in my gallery, posted 0ct 4th) are about 5 1/2 weeks old. Yes, i know they should be bigger, but they were stunted in the beginning due to what i think is too hot a temp.
The question is, how long do you guys think till they show sex, so i can start flowering? IM hoping very much that they will show sex by next friday ( nine days from now), and i would think that they defnitley would, but the fact that they havent shown sex yet makes me skeptical...
Another question, is there a way to force them to sex? and does this inflict any harm or increase the liklihood of them bieng male?
Thanks

Depends how long you veg'. And how you grow. You could have early shows 2 days into 12 12.

Another question now....
Could i switch the photo period to 18/6 for a week or so? I know that photoperiod has the potential to make plants flower earlier and show more defniitive sex earlier, but since ive used 24/24 all this time, would that be bad?
I wouldent think so...
Thanks again

Pardon me if I'm stating the obvious, but it sounds like you think the plants will just show sex on their own ... they won't.
You need to induce flowering by giving them 12 hours of uninterupted darkness each day for 2-3 weeks. During the 3rd week they will show sex and continue flowering as either male or female.

Not at all. Give the plants some rest. i gave mine 24 hours for a week, i think their 2nd week into veg as they vegged for 24 days. After that I put them on 18/6. There's a theory that the plants only have the capability to take in 18 hours of light anyway.

Wait wait wait, they dont show sex by themselves?????? I have to switch to 12/12 before calyxs form? This si defnitly news to me...
i thought that i veg them until they show sex, then I could either start 12/12 then, or wait till whenever they had vegged sufficiently in my eyes....
Which of these ways is the true way???
Also, the "flowering time" (8-10 weeks in my case) is from the start of the 12/12 or from when they show sex?
Thanks again again

1st - No they dont show sex if u dont switch to the flower cycle photoperiod (unless u´re growing ruderalis a.k.a Lowrider)
2nd - If u leave a plant in constant 18/6 or plus hour cycle the plant will continue in veg cycle (this is how we keep mother plants)
3rd - U should never flower a plant (induce 12/12 cycle) on plants younger then 4 - 6 weeks
4th - the flowering time (those 8 - 10 weeks) are from the start of the 12/12 cycle
