Default MH 3000k -vs- HPS for flowering.

I'm using the MH 3000k grow bulb for flowering and was wondering if anyone had any experience with these.

Its my first grow so I have no clue how they perform against the HPS bulb. I do know that they produce a few less lumen and my plants haven't doubled in size since flowering. They've only grown 6-8" since flowering but have have many bud sights. This could be good for keeping small plants if thats what the MH does ... reduces stretch.
