hi folks, i'm thinking about moving out of state. would really love to take my op with me. it's a full soil grow, with plants in all stages of growth. they could be in the truck for up to 24 hours, as i will be renting a uhaul truck. what is the best way to prepare them for the move. i was thinking about taking them out of the pots and putting the root ball in a plastic bag so i could lay the plants down horizontally...to save room and so they can be put in boxes. is this a good idea?? any input is greatly appreciated.

Sounds beyond dangerous.

I did a move one time and my plant was in the cab of my truck sitting tall and pretty. I drove south on I-5 for hours and I didnt have a care in the world. She was a good 4' tall. LOL

Leave them in the pots and box them rather than bag them to allow some air. They are usually stressed a bit but as long as there are no temperature extremes is can be done. The key is LOW stress, rent a bigger truck so you have room to put your op in with plenty of space

Newgrowth is right. You leave them as is and don't stress them by changing pots or anything. Box them up, standing upright... They can travel for days in the dark as long as they don't freeze to death.

The key to doing this successfully is not being paranoid and just don't even think about it. Don't smoke, drive perfect, don't speed, all insurance and license good, check lights, make sure there is zero reason for you to be stopped and you will just cruise along safe and sound.
