I think the reason tin foil works for me is because I have a large grow area. I believe the tin foil will only create hot spots is if it is creased and wrinkled in certain places. If it is carefully put up I think tin foil would make a very good reflector of light.

I'm making a light hood today out of cardboard and tin foil. As we are lifting the lights again, and the grow area is large in relation to the amount of plants we have, we've thought it best to make a light hood. This will enable us too to spread the plants further apart, give them a bit of breathing space.

If you're using a cupboard you'd be better off using white paint. If you're going to use foil, make sure it is flat. You could iron it between two sheets of paper.

This really isn't a grow journal im going to move it to indoor growing and you can start another fishtank journal when you are ready.

Default fishtank tragedy

hey widow maker i dont want you to punch an old lady about this, but my little plants are in a fistank. I transplanted them from big cups to this about a week and a half ago and one has continued growing, the other one has a bad root i think and formed four leaves and stopped. I have a big circular grow pot that i can re-transplant to,. I only grew once before but it was in the same fish tank. It grew to be pretty big, maybe one foot no buds and about 4 hairs, but then it just fell over becuase i think it didnt have enough light. I noticed you said that the soild needs to drain. So A) cant i just poke holes in the fish tank, and B) whenever i put water in it it seems like the soil just eats it up and it doesnt even make it to the bottom so whats the point of having holes at the bottom. Do you condone putting ALOT of water in so that the water DOES reach to the bottom? cheers
and by the way widow i liekd your grow guide.
