| | Ive bought these things you use in kids bedrooms. They are designed to hang from the ceiling to put stuffed toys in.They are made of material mesh stuff.1.5 meters high with five mesh shelves about 300mm in diameter.I hang them in my growroom with a light on for warmth and dehumidifier to combat the moisture.Been using for two years, work great.36 hours buds crispy on outside, time to seal them in plastic bag for day.Find this brings out moisture from inside. If still too moist i leave bag open for few hours.Repeat if necassary.Sorry about spelling,us New Zealanders doit a little different. |

| | When I am ready to harvest I manicure the buds while still attached to the plant (save the trim of course). Then I cut the plant and hang upside down until almost dry. I then remove the buds and place in between 2 sheets of newspaper for 2 days and transfer to mason jars I don't air them daily. |

| | How big your buds grow and how potent your smoke is depends on how well you’ve nourished your plants. I use AN products exclusively, since they’ve always brought me great results and bountiful harvests. I have a large, windowless walk-in closet next to my grow-room, which I’ve been using as my drying and curing room for the past couple of years. I’ve made sure that the door seals properly to ensure total darkness and I keep the air circulating in there with a large fan. I drilled an exhaust vent to an adjacent closet, in which I recently installed an ozone generator. I used to use carbon filtration to eliminate telltale odors, but since I started using AN’s super premium base fert, Connoisseur, the fragrance of my buds became so strong that I had to reroute my exhaust air through the smaller closet with the ozone generator in it. This is a kind of a long-winded way to explain my methods of drying and curing, but it’s all interconnected. I also use Sweet Leaf with its natural berry sugars to sweeten my smoke. This adds additional fragrance. I haven’t yet used a dehumidifier, but I might have to get one now. The Connoisseur-fed buds are so huge that I topped my six ladies and hung the tops with the buds still on them on a wire stretched near the ceiling of the walk in closet. One clothes peg is not enough to hold the extra weight. I actually had to wire the stems to the drying line in order to keep them from falling. I assembled some shelves against one wall of this closet to hold my glass jars for curing. The jars were the type that my wife stores spaghetti in with a cork stopper, but this time they’re definitely not big enough to hold my humungous buds. (I also used Bud Blood, Big Bud, and Overdrive, in addition to the Connoisseur!) My daughter dragged me into a candy shop the other day and am I ever glad she did! They had these really big glass containers with lids holding their candy, so I found out who their supplier was. I bought 30 of them to hold my prolific harvest of gigantic buds. But the glass containers are too big and numerous to fit onto the existing shelves. So I’m in the process of assembling some bigger shelves in the hallway. I’m wiping them with Advanced Nutrients Wipe Out in order to make sure that no pathogens get into the drying room. A fungal infestation is the last thing you want touching your harvest. So I figure it’s going to take 10 to 14 days to dry the plants. I already manicured the buds--it’s better if you do it when they’re fresh. You do too much damage trying to manicure them when dry. Then I’ll cut the buds with sterilized scissors and process them separately from the leaves. Each bud will go into its very own glass jar and the lid put on. Each day I’ll take the lids off to allow the buds to breathe. The large fan on medium setting will continue to keep the air circulating in the closet. Excess odors and moisture will go through the freshly drilled exhaust hole into the other closet with the ozone generator in it. Then the odourless air will be vented to the outside. Oh, I forgot that I will sterilize the glass containers with boiling water. Make sure to put a large spoon or a ladle in the jars to keep them from cracking, before you pour the scalding water in. Then they must be thoroughly air-dried before they can be used to cure cannabis. This dark closet set up with the glass jars is only for the curing process. Long term cannabis storage should be in a freezer, in order to keep the active ingredients—the THC and the other cannabinoids—from losing their potency. Also, please be careful not to crush or manhandle the buds at any time. This degrades the resin glands, which will diminish the plants’ euphoriant and medicinal effects. |
