Default Is there a common problem for...
Is there a certain list of problems that are generally associated with indica plants which have stoped growing stems, either in hieght or width, at about 4-5 inches tall... They are still producing leaves, but the stems wont elongate, and im getting worried!!!

Thanks

Shorter stockier plants are generaly looked at as a good thing. Better than lanky, spindly plants at least. If you want taller plants that move the light source further away. But if it were me, and they looked healthy, I'd just leave them.

Well, sorry to say it but they don't really look that great. The bottom most leaves look like they've got fert. burn, they've got spindly stems, and they're small. First off, top off the pots with soil up to the leaves and ditch the crutch. Next, only use distilled water for a week or so and do not over water. It may be to hot in there. What's the temp.? Is it well ventilated? What strain are they? Hit me back and I'll try to help if I can. Don't give up! Check out my gallery. This is my first indoor grow. I'm going on a month.

Why should i ditch the crutch? I will, but im just wondering why.... I think its well ventilated, but its in a hot attic which, as you can imagine, ios quite an obstacle to ventilation.... They're Pot of Gold, which is like 90% indica.... I agree with you on the fert burn, i thought that too....

I should really put dirt up to the leaves on all the ones with hieght?

Thanks again man

the soil will give the plant the support it needs so you can ditch the stick that in there now. The stem should be able to support itself at this point. You never want the temp. to go above 85degrees f. 75-80 is better.

Temperature above 95 can cause growth to stop. If you are adding CO2 then you can get away with higher temps. Not enough fresh air will cause growth to slow down.

And when those things are off, then with all of the nutes available, the plants start to look overfertilized.

Plus, I've seen several strains of mostly Indica that just don't grow much, or certainly not nearly as fast as most. I've grown, and finally discarded, strains like P91, Afghani, Blue Moonshine, and Sensi Star, just because they didn't grow fast enough to produce well.
