Default yup another CO2 question.
OK Guys, I think I'm gonna step up my game and bring CO2 into the mix. I already got everything i need ( 10 lb tank, regulator, hose, etc) my question is would it be better for me to turn off the intake fans and run the hoses up to the plants while CO2 are being released or just run the tube to the intake fans and keep them on?!?!?!?

Yes you have to let the Co2 sacherate, if you leave the fans on it will vent out.

Best method for C02 would be to turn off all exhaust and intake fans, c02 is heavier than air so you want to release it over the tops of your plants, and give it time to saturate, most growers limit there saturation time to how long they can maintain decent temps, this is why you here a lot of growers saying you can have higher temps with C02.

The way my setup is, my fans are on a dual timer set for 4 times a day at 20 minute intervals My Co2 is set up on a timer for 4 times a day at 5 minute intervals. When the fans turn off Co2 turns on for 5 min then gives 15 minutes for sacheration. No offence but on the high temp thing, its not just what people say. Its been proved that with proper Co2 usage people have been able to grow their plants in up 88° temps (now some people have said they have grew in the low low 90° temps but I wouldn't go that far lol.

I never said it wasnt true, I just have never read anything scientific backing it up......Its just bad advice telling people they can have higher temps with C02, some people get the wrong idea and cook their plants by keeping them higher all day, every strain is different so keep a close eye on them for stress when your venturing into high temp areas.

And I only let my grow get to around 88-90 MAX, but it never stays that hot longer then 3-4 min before the fans kick in.

jeff what is your cubic sq ft for the room you use that co2 setup in? and y do you only let your plants get 15 mins for saturation? is it because your temps get to high in that amount of time? at that rate how much co2 are you using in a week?

My closet is now 4.5'x4.5'x8' = 162 cubic feet
Yes I'll only keep it on for that short period of time because of heat issues I have a 400w MH for veg and a 4oow HPS for flower. It gets a little warm in there without the fans on for a period of time. Check this calculator out.

CO2 Calculator - Greentrees Hydroponics

the way its setup a 20lb tank will last me 6 months. Thats using it 4 times a day at 4.5 minutes each cycle. I'm doing 18:6, doing 12:12 or 24:0 would vary in co2 usage.

yeah i used that website for my co2 too, my total cf was a lil higher than yours and i was looking to see how long a 20lb tank would last me, looks like i will be fine maybe 2-3 tanks in one year, not too bad. +rep for you!
