After reading I'd like your opinions and/or tips on what I am attempting to do please? Soiled grow by the way.

Grow box

I have a good sized rubbermaid tote which I spray painted the inside, including the lid bright white. Cut 2 holes longway in the lid each being about 4 inches wide. With one of the scraps I trimmed it and hot-glued it shortways in the middle sort of as a brace.

Lighting

I cut two, 1/4' or so paths out in the lid for the cord of the lights to go and hang from. For lights it will be cfl's, two of them. Not sure what wattage I should get so can somebody please chime in on that one? I went up to the local hardware store and the highest wattage cfl's they had in stock were 13 watts I chose to buy two just to check these bulbs out as I have never owned them before. I am aware that I'll need higher wattage ones. I'll get those this weekend sometime and put the 13's somewhere else in the house

Seeds

If I told you I had good quality seeds I'd be lying. They came from better than average bud but who knows what they'll grow like. Cloning is not an option at this point.

Lowes and Home Depot has 42 watt CFLs. I use 85 watt bulbs

dont forget to get the 6500k cfls for vegging

I was gonna hit walmart first. Think they have that high of watted cfls there?

Also, will I run into any type of heat issues growing inside a tote? It's pretty good sized. Main issue is I was wondering if they'd get hot enough to melt the lid even though a huge portion is cut out of it?

wont melt the rubbermaid the cfls dont get to hot on the ballast part

dont forget youll need some fans for ventilation and maybe an exauhst if youd like

I have a nice shelf fan that should work quite swell

i saw a small grow in a tote. except they used one tote flipped over the other tote so it is twice as big. just a thought. ScrOG?

I was just planning on growing a couple in there but keeping them pretty short. I can always remove the lid when the get high enough. Or like you mentioned, double tote it

ScrOG is screen of green. small number of plants or even one and a screen for tying down for even canopy.
