Default Purple Seedling Stem - does it mean anything?

Just wondering if it means anything when your seedling has a purple stem as opposed to white... Any Insight?

My seedling stems are always purple, and occasionally i see a purple tinge on the leaves. They always turn out fine....

It can't be deficient since it's still feeding off itself.

it could be from the plants being cold. mine usually go purple due to being cold. usually just the stems and little parts of the leaves. i think it has something to due with my 10 degree difference between the lights on and off period. they normally stop purpling once the plants get further along in growth. it never seems to hurt anything though. peace.

Temperature could def have something to do with it... That makes a lot of sense. It is in the basement, and i'm using cfls. But to compensate in my flowering room I exhaust back into my veg room to keep it right around eighty.

I was speculating that it might have to do w/ cold and/or indica genetics due to what ive read about bringing out purples.

Actually, purple strains are usually Sativa's, not Indica's (i.e. Purple Haze).
