Do CFLs sometimes malfunction and dim? I have 2 40W daylight CFLS right next to each other. They have been used for less than a week. One is slightly dimmer than the other and feels cooler to the touch. I'm guessing I need to go buy another one right?

Sometimes if you crack a CFL it causes it to dim.
That or the socket its in is faulty, but i'd lean more towards the Faulty CFL. They have a lifetime warrenty don't they?? |

i would think yes, but first swap the bulbs and see if the same bulb is dim. if not than it could be the socket or wireing. those compact bulbs have a ballast built in to them so probly is the bulb.

Just called the bulb store and they said they'd replace it without a receipt. Sweet!
