i was cleaning out a basement closet today where i was hoping to set up my first grow (6 CFLs and white mylar). I was a little freaked out though as there were a bunch of spider webs up in the closet and i saw a pretty big centipede which i had to kill

i'm kind of freaked out about growing here now. are spider mites more likely when you see the webs of regular spiders and won't the centipede's eat up my plants?

i'm curios if i should select another area of the house now

any info would be appreciated

eh, I have spiders in my closet, but I don't worry about them, so far nothing bad has happened to my plants.... but I don't know about hte centipedes

get some bug bombs and put them in the grow room...close the door...follow the directions...ya know, whatever you want

but i bombed my basement just because i had bugs...and I didnt see them the rest of the year

Excellent suggestion the bug bombs. But before you use those walk around a check things out. Make sure you don't have any little openings, spaces around windows, leaks, etc. where more bugs could come in. If you do just use some caulking to plug the leaks. Then bug bomb away.

yea ditto wht these have said..... spiders wont do out execpt for eat other bugs....

however the centipedes wil eat your crop (the bastards)

The area I used to bomb was under my basement. But there were no seals or anything on the wooden door leading right outside. I store my lawnmower and stuff like that down there. And even with the gaps for bugs to get in, they didnt...so I'd say it works alright
