I have 4 Fat Bastards vegging that I am hoping to get a mother out of. This is all the info I've got about the seeds/strain. I don't see anything about auto-flowering. Kind Seed Marijuana Seeds, Fat Bastard - THC Laboratories, THC Laboratories

They have been vegging for around 6 weeks with 18 hours light. 2 are showing female and 1 male and 1 unknown so far. Will they continue to vegg regularly if I don't change the lighting? Or, will they start budding? There are pistills on the branches as well as the main stem.

If they are gonna start budding I don't wanna butcher them down to the height requirement in my vegg area. I was gonna take cuttings to get them back under control but now am unsure??

this is a sign of maturity, they will not completely bud untill you go to 12/12 they are either pistillate or staminate primordia(you said you have pistils so pistillate primordia)don't worry...it's perfectly normal....you can get good info on pre-flowers in the book marijuana Botany by Robert Clarke....peace

Thanks 000420, so it's safe to assume I've got at least 2 females without actually flowering them?? And anyone who has a mother plant over a couple months old has these pre flowers?? Maybe a stupid question but you'll never know if you don't ask.

Yes all my mothers have pre-flowers as do all the clones I take, that's one of my favorite things about cloning, not only are all my plants female but thay are all mature and ready to produce a healthy crop of buds.....peace....

Heya...I'm also growing da Fat Bastard. I'm hopin she is a monster for back pain!

How tall are the plants you have goin' now? Mine didn't stretch tons...goin into 12/12 at about 15-18" and finishing at about 20-22". She bulks nicely and has a peppery/pungent smell. I just cut last Thursday and hope to get a taste very soon....

Mine were true to the preflowers...I had a male and a female. the male's pollen was collected and I'm going to do some limited crosses with a few select clones I have going. He was STOUT as hell. THE bushiest dude I've ever seen! I'm not makin FB "f-2" seeds cus I already have a bunch.
I took clones off the female and will do so again and toss the first clones into 12/12. It's the first finished set of clones that tells the tale for me. Time will tell...not many folks doin this one as you've seen. (there is another thread here though..I believe)

"beenthere donethat" That's awesome, someone else has heard of the Fat Bastard. I asked if anyone had heard of it in an earlier thread and got mixed results.
I hope mine follow the preflowers cuz I just eliminated the other 2. I am dying to flower them but have to wait for the flower room to free up. I've got 2 giant Fat Bastards now over 20" but have been vegging forever and should have easy pickings for my clone cuttings.
