I've had my plant growing under a grow light from a hardware store for about 40 days, would it be time to start flowering?

40 days? or 14?move light to roughly an inch away and keep veging.

Dude, just go buy some cfls from a store. They will work MUCH better than that dumb ass light. I seen one at my local hardware store, I thought about it, then laughed.

you never did say what kind of light you are using...my hardware store sells a 250w hps light as well as others...if it is a hps light it doesnt need to be within 14 to 16 inches from your plants...if it is cfl 1 inch is where it needs to be...also for the flor tubes...did your plants do this after you moved your light?or did you move it?...getting info would help us help you
