I am curious how long a flowering plant will live without any fan leaves. My plants will be 8 weeks into 12/12 tomorrow, and almost ALL of the fan leaves have yellowed and fallen off.

I plan to leach (water only) for the next 2 weeks and harvest at the end of week 10 into 12/12.

I was also thinking about cutting the top colas, and lowering the lights down to the smaller buds. Would this be worth it? OR should I harvest all at one time? I know it is mostly up to preference, but will lowering the lights down say for a week or so on the smaller buds have enough effect to go through with it?

The reason why I want to do it all at one time is I want to dry in my grow box, but if it is beneficial enough to lower the lights down for a week, I can dry the colas in something else.

Suggestions please.

either way you can do it. you should just cut n dry your plant in one time.

just because you trimm the fan leaves dosnt mean its gonna die.th plant with still recieve what it needs from the plants with the much smaller leaves.

Well I didn't cut them off. They were yellow and dried up, just a nudge and they pop off.

Well you didn't provide pictures or strain information, so I will tell you a short story. During my last harvest I had one plant that needed an extra 2 weeks. It was in similar shape as to what you described. I did a moderate flush and then didn't water it again. by the end of the 2nd week the cola snapped and the buds were already starting to dry. It's the best bud from that harvest.
