Default Another question concerning fungus gnats

Does the method of covering your media with black aquarium rocks really succeed in killing gnats? Are there any other non chemical- DIY methods similar that would work..... I am attempting to find an easy around the house kind of alternative to going and spending money on pesticides that may or may not harm the plant. Anyone have any suggestions?

They have sticky pads you just hang a few in the grow area and the scented pads draw them in with a chemical smell they like and they just stick and die. Like a sticky fly roll
