Default Smell?

Ok i was wondering on how to get ur bud to have a stronger smell, i know alot of it comes in the curing process but what else helps?my buddy gets clones from the same person i do and his always comes out with a better smell, mine seems to have a planty smell, i dont see much of any difference between the 2 set ups so im a little confused plz help

Smell is better with slow dried bud and well cured bud too
