Hey all,

I'm looking for some advise and opinions from someone that has actually tried this. I've only been growing for about 6 months now, have had pretty good results-at least haven't had to buy any smoke since first harvest so that's the main thing! I have heard some about reducing the light from 12/12 to 10/14 (more dark) during the last 4 weeks or so once flowering is fully established.

I do understand that this will reduce yeild somewhat, but I'm only interested in personal smoke. My understanding is that this will speed up finishing, but will it make denser buds? If I had one complaint about what I have grown it would be that it is not dense enough. I told one long-time indoor grower about the bud density I had and they said I was using too much light at the end of flowering.

I'm aware that there are a hell of a lot more factors that go into bud density, but I'm interested on concentrating on this one factor right now. I'm going to try it for myself in about 3 weeks, but I would like to hear from some that have tried it!!

i always progress the light schedule down by an hour every month of flower. take in mind i always flower for 90 days or more. so the last month the lights are on 10/14. just use a little blackstrap mollasses the last month always swells the shit out of buds

the dark wont swell buds. it changes the chemical compound of the thc. 4 weeks seems long.
it works better to have a complete dark period at the end. increases potency up to 30%

Thanks for the input. Yes I am familiar with a 48 hour dark period before harvest but once again, I'm only interested in concentrating on this one factor right now. Have you actually tried 10/14 for yourself or is that just your opinion? Not trying to be combative, just wanting to seperate tried and trued from opinion!

i have and found it harmed the final amount. less light means less convertion at night.
you can actualy go with up to 72 hpurs dark at the end. minimum 48 to be a benefit

Yeah, I expect it to affect final yeild but don't really care. The object is not to swell them up but make them more dense-big difference. I like dense nugz!! It's OK if they aren't the size of donkey dicks as long as they are like little rocks!

that wont affect the density. the dark will slow growth, of plant and size of nugs.
the only thing it did in our tests was change the chemicals like i said. the only way to find for yourself is just do it.
there are to many bogus claims out there. i put most different theories to the test to see for myself.
