I just bought this hydro system off ebay. It was pretty inexpensive ( came to about $47.00 USD w / shipping ). This will be a first grow , what do you think of the setup? I plan on only using about 3 of the spots because I think it will crowd up. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

not bad.i have the same setup. i went from 6 plants to 3 plants to 2 and thats the winner. if you want a max yeild use 2 enough for monsterous plants.

Upgrade the pump to the 30 60 gallon.dual outlet and use two stones i use the biggest stone that will fit use all the holes so you can take the males out you wont get all females if this is your first try at hydro i would not use expensive beans use bagseeds.i started with the stealth hydro 4yrs ago and now have made a water farm.gl oh yea it is addicting and hard to stop growing and alot of fun welcome to riu.

I checked out that eBay site you mentioned.....

They have different systems available, one that has six - 3 3/4" pots, one that has eight - 3 3/4" pots and a unit that has three - 5" pots. Which one do you guys think is best for growing?

It seems that the tub that has eight small pots might become a bit crowded...

my opinion would be 10 gallon res 2 plants to get the max yeild. ive tryed 6 and 3 but the best is 2.you would get more yeild from those 2 then 6 crowded. fa sho

yeah im probably gonna stick to two plants because i dont want them crowding. it's my first time so it will be my learning curve. what could i expect for a yield? im gonna be growing kaya. they say it's an easy strain to grow but we'll see.

That looks like a damn good deal. I'm currently growing three plants in 5" net pots in a tub that size. I've topped and LSTed these guys and they are bushy as hell. I think it prolly depends on the strain and growing method, but three seems pretty crowded and I just started flowering. I'd have to agree with two in 5" net pots. If under 1000W HPS, how much you think two in a tub can yield? I'm working with four tubs at the moment and I'm curious as to what final yield will be.
