Sup All.....

This is our first grow ever. We decided to use the aerogarden set-up after reading many of the posts on here. We have had some good and bad times with this. But it is a learning process. The seeds are un-known. Just stuff that we had picked outta of stuff we have gotten from others.

The pics are about week 4-5 for two of the plants. The smaller ones had to be re-planted. THEY MAY NOT MAKE IT....oh well thats life.

Any advise or tips you can provide would help. We are just using the standard pack that came with the aerogarden. Nothing too special yet.

Looks pretty good so far, but what I would do is ditch the lights that came with the aerogarden and go buy 4 100 watt cfls. Buy two warm tone ones and two blue toned ones. I think they are called natural light and daylight or something... anyway use those and get them way closer to the plants! Otherwise they'll get stretched out like your big ones are right now. Also get a bubbler, you can get it at walmart in the aquarium section. Are you just using plain tap water right now? Temp in the room? Light cycle times? Once you get the cfls, buy a seperate timer for them and run it on a veg time cycle of your choice, and set the aerogarden to salad greens, so the water runs 24/7. Looking good, just a few small changes can make a BIG difference.

The light cycle is set to a 12/12 cycle. We are using just plain tap water right now. We have talked about getting the different lights from wal-mart. The water is set to the veg cycle to keep it running. The temp in the room is 78-81. With a fan for good air flow.

Ok Im at the end of the 5-6th week and want to start inducing flowering. How does this occur? This is my first attempt at growing so I need some assist.

Also how do I determine the male from the female plant?

Turn the lights onto a 12/12 cycle veg is 18/6 some do 24/24 Flower is 12/12 ... You are having nute deficiency there I noticed a slight paling off of the fan leaves

Get some nutes ... and feed your babies also make sure your water pH is adjusted to 5.8<>6.0 makes a hugeeeeeeeeee difference ...

Just noticed you also want to know how to determain sex ,Cant be done until flowering has commenced and your about 10 to 14 days in ...
Once that far into flowering look for Pistils (white long hairs at the base of each node )

How do you determine male from a female plants?

We are doing 16/8 right now, I will drop it to the 12/12 to get the flowering started once I get me a secondary timer tomorrow.

As for nutes in your neck of the woods I'm not 100% sure as I no doubt live in an other country ... But In the FAQ's there heaps of reading for nutes ,Or you could go to a local hydro store and they will put you on to some fine nutes for your Babies ...
