Default water cooling tricks?

I'm using a Power Cloner with a 10 gallon res. I realized today that my water is around 86 degrees, which from what I understand is a bad thing. My reading tells me I want this somewhere around 70F.

Is there any inexpensive tricks to dropping water temp? Chillers are somewhat expensive and a hassle since the water needs to pass through the chiller.

I was thinking of freezing some bottles of water and just throwing it in the tank, but I'm guess that it wouldn't do much and probably wouldn't last long enough to make a difference.

Thanks

I do the frozen bottle thing...it doesn't last very long but it does help keep the res from getting in the danger zone

I use frozen 2 liter bottles and it works great! I keep my room between 74 - 77 degrees so once I put a frozen bottle in the res the temp stays low pretty much all day. I keep my res away from the light on the plants... this helps too.

I put one bottle in in the morning and swap it out with another just before lights out. I have no issues with res temp.

The one thing you have to be careful of is letting the water get too cold. A 2 liter bottle does great for my 10 gallon res. but I also have a smaller bucket I mix water/nutes in for my clones... I put a 2 liter bottle in that one too... but I only let it sit in there for 30 minutes because if I leave it in there longer the temp drops to the low 50s.

I refuse to spend big money on a res chiller so the frozen 2 liter bottles work well for me. I don't mind swapping out bottles every day as it's very easy to do.

I have a 20 gall. res...I think I'll be switching to a 2 liter bottle now...I was just worried it would get too cold.
