Angry Anyone about ram horning?

Whats up guys,

I have a problem. I ve been flowering for 19 days in a drip/dwc system.

I have been noticing some curling and twisting of new growth. Someone called it "Ram Horning". As if it was a common problem.

It's new to me tho, anyone know what causes it? My system is dialed in pretty close to what i think is right. Ph 5.7, Ambient temp 75 day 70 night. 400w hps 8'' from canopy. Water temp is 24c. Ive been trying get the right ppm. I had it up to 1500 on Saturday. My res's drop around a half gallon a day. So topped off with just distilled water. Today res is down about 1/4 gal. PPm is 1000 today. Im using pureblend pro bloom for hydro.I have seperate 2 gal res. right now. Hydrofarm drip ring bucket with air stone in the bottom of the res.
I use liquid karma sweet and cal mag aswell. LK + 10ml Sweet + 10ml Cal/mag + 7ml.

Could it be too early for the sweet? I lose quite a bit of leaves. I was thinking maybe the sweet was interferring with the carbosynthesis. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure what "ram horning" is but your plant looks pretty healthy to me. You may want to use some yarn and gently tie the branches down so more light penetrates the plant. You can do this while it's flowering... just don't start with an extreme bend. My plant is growing through a screen and I do this to the branches pulling them away from each other and tying them down to the screen. This allows more light to penetrate lower into the plant. I'd say I don't have more then a 30 degree bend to them and they do just fine.

Don't know if that helps... but it's all I can think of at the moment.

1400 PPM is almost the maximum.... don't blow it by going higher then 1500 PPM (on your first grow) or you will be SORRY!!!!! Keep your first grow at no more the 1500 PPM (and you should be at week 5 of flowering before you get that high on PPM). I'm at week 4 and my PPM is 1200 PPM.!

Don't fuck up by thinking you need a high PPM . remember this.... KISS = "Keep It Simple Stupid". In other words... keep your grow simple until you LEARN how far you can push it with your nutes and grow room.

BTW.... 75 degrees F for a hydro res is TOO HIGH! You may not have problems now... but you will soon with those temps! Get and maintain that res at 68 - 70 degrees F. YES IT DOES REALLY MATTER!....
