I just finished putting my 1in rockwool cubes in to soak overnight in 5.5 ph water and my seeds are in a paper towel in a nice warm dark spot.

When I see the tap roots I will sow the seeds in the cubes and put them in a humidity dome (with a heat mat) and mist them when needed.

Questions I have are:

1. Should I mist with 5.5 ph water?
2. Should I mist with 5.5 ph nuted water?

When I see the roots under the cubes I will move them to my DWC buckets and begin the veg stage until they reach 12"-18".

I read the back of the flora grow, micro, bloom bottles but they have more nutrient stages than just "veg and flower" which is confusing me.

GH Nutrient Feeding Schedule

I use a variation of the GH FloraNova Schedule. I think it is way too strong for hydro/aero.

I use FloraNova Grow CF=6 with some Floralicious Plus for cuttings and early veg. Then a week of the same ratios as the GH schedule but to 10 CF. Then a week at CF 16. Then week four I start transitioning half veg / half flower when I go to 12/12 with the lights.

But he is using the Flora Series of Micro, Bloom and Grow. I'll tell ya, many growers have just used 3ml of each throughout veg and flower, or 5ml of each. That mix will grow some fine plants. If you want to fine tune it some, you can use twice the Grow during veg, and twice the Bloom during flowering.

No need to mist seedlings. Just keep the medium moist, the heat mat will dry it out fast.

Thanks. The only way Im going to find out is to do it myself. Im going to go by the GH feeding schedule and change nutes every 2 weeks or when needed.

What about this "topping off" method? In my case, I am using a 12 gal res (waterfarm). It's been awhile since my last grow, but I recall just adding PH balanced water for awhile after adding nutes. Can anyone help with this?

I see that many use Lucas' formula for the GH 3-part nutes. So far I've had pretty good results with Highgrade's formula that I found on Overgrow.com under growfaq 92.

The 1st number is the Flora-Gro; 2nd is Flora-Micro and the last is Flora- Bloom. You use a ratio of 3-2-1 during veg, 1-1-1 during transition and 1-2-3 during flower. Meaning that in veg you use 3 times the amount of Flora-Gro than Flora-Bloom and 2 times as much Flora-Micro as Flora-Bloom. So if you are using 5 ml per gallon of Flora-Bloom, you should use 10 ml per gallon of Flora-Micro and 15 ml of Flora-Gro.

At transition you use equal parts of all three. Then during flower you use 3 times the amount Flora-Bloom than Flora-Gro and 2 times as much Flora-Micro as Flora-Gro.

That's how you get a 3-2-1; 1-1-1; and 1-2-3 ratio. GH also has a ppm calculator online to help you estimate your ppm level before mixing. I mix my nutes at two-thirds to three-fourths the GH recommended nute strengths and then backoff the next water change if I need to.

Im' still tweaking the formula for my strain of plants.
