I planted my seeds straight into the aerogarden and let them germinate in there. I have the water pump on salad greens so it's always on and the light is always on as well because it's on it's own cord. Both of them germinated but one of them the first thing that came out, kind of green was white grew out of the top of the foam. It kind of curled up a bit and then back towards the foam and then shriveled and is brown. Was that first thing that came out supposed to be a root or the plant. Cuz if it was a root than it for some reason grew straight up. Everything i've found said that the seed is supposed to open at the top which it did. Am i misinformed and is it supposed to open at the bottom? Am i supposed to leave the water on always?

Pull them out and germ them in a wet paper towel.... and put in a dark place , They take FOREVER to germ in the aerogarden ..TRUST me .. been there done that .. after they are about an inch then set them in the ag

Also You have to watch that the main root gets going downward .. poke a hole in the foam and gently put the root in it .. and I would use the tomatoe setting ...

Thanks a bunch man, I'm gonna go put that thing pointing down i suppose. I didn't know that the roots turned green at the base as well XD.

*Also the seed actually germinated the second day in the aerogarden.

Ive had a week and better with seeds straight in the aerogarden before they germed and sprouted ,,, But in a paper towel .. 48 hrs and they are ready to go in .. Good luck ..
