This is my first grow ever and i grew in hydroton in an ebb and flow system. My plants are on 18/6 still and have shown pre flowers 1 fem and 2 men. I know that I have to get rid of the males but how? If i pull them outta the hydroton they will rip up my fems roots right? And if i just cut them a the base this will just leave roots behind how will i get rid of those so they dont cause a problem?

I think you try to get the roots untangled as much as possible and cut out the male. Then you use some food grade 33% hydrogen peroxide (not like the kind they sell at Kroger) mixed at the propa concentration or some commerical products. (Clearex or similar rings a bell for some reason) which contain the ingredient and that consumes the leftover rotten roots. Next grow..lift each plant up outta the water about once a week individually and that supposed to help from getting the roots all tangled up. Heard one fella say to wrap the roots in saran wrap and make em sorta pointed shaped so they will fit back down in the hole. Guess you fish the Saran wrap outta there later. Hope this helps.

thanks i ended up easing the plant out of the bin they are growing in i went and picked up some hygrozyme for my reservoir and we will see where it goes from there i feel bad for the little fucker it looks so sad with all of its roots hangin and all
