ello all, I recently bought a 70$ clone in soil and was wondering if I can transfer it into a deep water culture system. I have a single bucket that is ready, I was just wondering if transfering from soil to hydro would cause too much stress and kill or if its ok.

the plant is about 6inches and bushy. I dont know how long they had it in the club but I've had it for about a week...it looks like it probably has a big root system already so thats why im concerned...

(can a plant in soil with a long/ big root system be transfered into a hydro system/ drip sytem?)

$70? Are you effing serious? I've never seen a clone higher than $15 and my friend's complain even $15 is too expensive. Hope it's some rare genetics or something. Anyways, I've transfered plants to a DWC just fine from soil. I tipped the plant over and got it out of the pot and then held it by the stem in one hand and the root ball in the other and swooshed the root/dirt ball in a bowl of water till most of the soil was out and put it in hydroton. Worked fine, although I'm not going to guarantee anything, for $70 I'd be worried.

hahaha...for 70$ i am worried...Just kidding. I know its rediculous but thats what we had to pay for better clones in cali...I definetly agree though 70$ is Fking crazy..However I had no clones or seeds of my own and I needed something quick...

I just hope I dont put too much stress on the plant while transferring it

Theres a dispensary in my town that sells plants that are a month into veg for 70 bucks. You could take like 10 clones off of em and still flower them! One guy even fims them, and they wated 60 for one with four tops.

Hey typo, I transplanted from soil to dwc with no problems. From hydro to soil failed due to the roots getting root bound.

take a clone from the plant you got then try it so you won't waste your money if it fucks up,
