I have a question, my garden hose pressure is low, to low to power my RO machine adequately. I was wondering if I could use a water pump (500gph) to pump water from a reservoir to the Ro machine. Do you all think I would have enough pressure to power it? Im not sure if this would work but does anyone have any ideas?

i was asking email about this.... is it really that slow? i mean it should have some pressure unless its dripping....

they sell pressure increasers or some shit with RO systems they are expensive tho!!!

Yea, well my hose isnt dripping, but, but it took me like 4 minutes to fill a 17 gallon rez straight out the hose. So i am guessing thats not enough pressure for my RO machine because It worked on a different water outlet great (which I counted about 450gph) with a steady stream of RO water coming out. But at the outlet where the grow is at, (only water outlet i can use) the RO machine, isnt working right. There is no runoff what so ever, and im getting about 4/5 of a gallon an hour, just small drips. Does anyone know about using a pump?

u do realize RO systems take longer to output clean pure water right?

i think you should make a standby rez and let your RO go over night....

i think water pressure determines how fast the water is cleaned....

Yea I know Ro systems take long, but I am not getting any run off with this water outlet. (Different location) And only drips Ro water out really slow(I mean slow, not even a gallon an hour). Like I said, it did work at a different location extremely well, which had a much higher water output.

are you renting or is that your house? if it was your house....i would try to fix the slow/low pressure first....examine pipes and such as well as other components of the water system. especially the pressure tank...it may not be able to hold pressure anymore!

Yea I saw the booster, but I was thinking, since the the water hose that the machine worked great on was putting out about 450 gph... if I were to use a water pump rated at 500 gph, (which i have ) would it be the same thing, or would the pressure not be there. Ill pump water from a rez to another rez in other words instead of from the house outlet hose.

i have no idea....that way if it did work....we could recycle the waste water right back thru the RO system

yea thats what i was thinking, Im going to try it, but just wanted to see if anyone knew of this. If it did work that would solve the need for float valve, water outlet, and stealthness and waste, but I really dont know about the pressure. My pump shoots out water like crazy, way more than my water hose, but I guess i will have to try.

i just cant see how that would work..... i guess attach the outlet hose from the pump to a spout? i think that could work but at the same time it could backfire
