Hey everybody, I just wanted to ask a question. I was at a friends cousins house burning it and my friends cousin showed us a plant of pretty good size he had growing out of an aquafina water bottle. He had strings attached to sumthing to hold it up an he had nutrients in the water. Is this possible, and if so how? I have a seed germinating and a young plant in soil dying and I was just wondering if this could be done and how. Good lookin out.

could be possible to rig up a mini deep water culture in a water bottle, only problem is you'd have to aerate the water somehow. I just built my own ebb and flow setup out of a storage container and it works pretty good now that I have a decent timer for the pump, not too expensive to build. I'm putting together another little system out of a 3 gal rubbermaid container right now for 5 seeds I've got germinating, plan is to sex em and then transplant the females straight into the tray..
If you're really low on cash I'd just go with the soil to save the plants. get some new dirt and check the grow room conditions.. good luck

Are we talking about a 1 litter water bottle? If so, I suspect it will be little more than a curiosity, as there certainly won't be any measurable yield from a contraption like that.
Were it me, I'd stay with proven methods if something to smoke is your goal...Brussels

you can do it for some time i think as long as you replace the water a lot, i have a little seedling started in a net cup sitting in a plastic cup with paper aroundit to block light, i had a germinated seed that i didnt have a place for so i gave it a try for fun, its been about a week and a half and its going fine, i forget about it a lot cause its out of the way, but i just use tap watter and a little bit of nutes, its still alive but i don't think it will last to much longer, but you never know. but i think you could grow a plant to full potential if you have a little air pump in it with a 1 liter or 2 liter bottle.
