Nutes added:
1.5 Tsp Tiger Bloom
2.5 Tsp Big Bloom
1/4 tsp open sesame
1/4 tsp epsom salt
1/4 tsp superthrive
1/4 small AG nute (just to help buffer ph a little)
2 caps H202

after doing a lot of research and reading here is what i have developed for an opinion on the AG.

1.) if your looking to learn about how hydro works and the certain intrinsics that go along with hydro, then the AG can do that. DO expect to wait 2-3months from seed to smokable. DO expect there to be setbacks and a learning curve of mistakes. (i know some had no issues) if you dont mind waiting months between harvests, then go for it. it will produce nice plants if used properly.

2.) IF you are a habitual smoker and are thinking this will help break the cycle of paying for it, well you will need a little more thought and effort for that. the AG is best for 2-4 plants. i smoke a lot and i am pretty sure that 2-4 plants wont produce enuff for me to wait 2-3 months for more. SOG is the way to go BUT,

3.) you will need another setup as the AG should be used for a mother or two. you may be able to use the empty slots for root germination, but have another place to rotate your crops. right now i have 3 females with more spots to clone from than i have room for. think i gonna hack the weakest and just have two. they will still produce more than enuff clones for me to use.

4.) not sure how expensive Fox Farm is but i use General Hydroponics and it works good. just use hydro nutes for hydro setup. (fox farm, general hydro, etc..)
i learned the hard way and miffed my first batch.AG nutes should be ok as they are intended for hydro use.

oh hygrozyme is expensive but is well worth it. i cut three males out by pulling up on the main stalk until the foam cup was exposed. then i cut the plants roots about an inch from the bottom of the cup and removed the plant. i left all the roots and let the hygrozyme do what it says. dissolve all away. been about three weeks since i cut my first one with no ill affects

These plants went in the AG on 4-11. I started flowering onc 5-7. Using FF nutes. Still can't sex them yet. I think they are looking pretty good. I was conservative on the nutes this time & have had no leaf burn probems. I can't wait to sex so I can pull the males & get more room. I add the nutes to a gallon jug of distilled water. Add the mixture when the water level gets low. I never change the entire reservoir. I had about five nodes when I went to the flower stage.

thats a very good idea, to premix the nutes in water for adding. that would keep the levels much more even for the plants. I assume mine as constantly up and down right now. Im going to start doing that today. Maybe that is another way i stunted their growth.

it has worked well for me. the 2- 1 gallon containers i use are easy and with the pre-effort all i do is top off every 24 hours when the lights come on.

they last about 2 weeks until i need to make more, and with the conversions provided by General Hydroponics, it has been easy to mix it up right. also from following the instructions, the pH tends to be right on. ~5.5

i stopped adding the 50% h2o2 as i didn't see the need for it with out a problem. the air stones are working, and it has been like 2-3 weeks since i unplugged my AG pump, so i am no longer pumping water just aerating it.

also, it has been like 2 weeks since i chopped my males and the remaining root mass has not caused any ill affects that i can see.

i just posted a new thread as i am beginning to "bend" my plants and "form" them to maximize my 3ft wide x 3ft tall x 2ft deep grow area. so far so good.

The plants are still looking great. I'll post pics later. I'm at the max height for the light hood as of this morning. Ups is delivering more lights, hopefully today & I'm going to remove the hood in a couple of days & install what should be more efficient lighting. My only issue so far is that I still cannot determine sex. No nuts or balls visible just the hairs. I cannot believe that I have all female plants but so far that is the way it looks. I'm obviously going to have a space issue before long. I'll try to get some close-ups today & maybe you can comment.

for some reasn my plants were slow to flower and show sex in the AG, BUT once they ddo it will be very noticable.

i could not believe the number and size of the balls for the males.
and once the females really start, you will see about 100 hairs coming out of the buds.

give it time, and patience young weedsmoker.

do what i did. i like the "all natural" highs from nature and have not had mushrooms in years. so i read on here how to do it.

it is cheaper than growing weed and pretty much the same buzz just more of it.

i am about to start my first batch of CAMBODIAN. MUUUUhahhahahahahaha

Cool--I'm going to check that out. Do you cut the fan leaves after you are a week or two into flowering. My plants are about 12-14 inches. I'm afraid to cut the huge lower fan leaves for fear it will cause them to stretch.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

anyhow, i dont think i can safely answer that yet.

if you are still in veg, then i would think to cut only the ones that are NOT being exposed to light.

if you keep your lights as close as possible, trimming a few lower leaves may not cause them to stretch. they may grow in response to the extra energy now not being used by those big fan leaves but keeping the lights close should minimize that.

also, depends on number of nodes. with out pictures it will be hard for anyone here to properly diagnose.

12-14 inches should be close to 6-8 nodes if grown properly in AG or other DWC system.

if in the AG, plan on switching to flower quickly.

ooops didnt realize you in flower already.

no matter. yes trim selectively any leaves that are a.) not getting a lot of light and b.) any leaves blocking potential bud locations.

i actually tied my plants over hoizontally at about 20 inches in height. i have many more budding sites on my plants due to this and more are exposed to light source.

i know i am stressing the AG and its res but hey i still learning. besides, if you have seen my other posts, you know what my next step is in evolution.
