Oh jeez, some sort of industrial solvent in my towns water...everyone should check that.

Water in my Town is NASTY! 660 PPM and NO I don't drink the stuff, bad enough I have to bath in it.
my RO system drops that to ~30-40PPM

Wow in my town we are over the legal limit on Manganese almost every single test, that's frakkin scary 
But that explains our unnaturally hard water here I'm guessing.
Added to your rep and I think this would make a good sticky so that others could check the water for their area before growing.
