Default Getting Flood Tables-Looking for Advice & Pointers

Going to switch from RDWC to flood tables and looking for advice. Getting three 3x4 trays to fit in my 5x10 tent under 2 1000 watt lights. Perpetual grow harvesting every 3 weeks with a 9 week strain. I'll be happy with a pound per table once I've gotten past the learning curve.

Not sure what medium to use (thinking hydroton to start with since I already have a big ass bag) or what size pots to use it in. Not sure on plant spacing (no more than 1 per sq ft as I'm too chicken shit to run high numbers) or how high the ideal flood level is with the various mediums.

So for starters what is a good medium, pot size, flood level, and plant spacing? Any other tips are appreciated too. Thanks everyone!!!

Really?! Over a hundred views and nobody wants to say what works for them? Ok, maybe I'm asking too much, at the very least please answer me this- How big of a plant can I grow in a 4" rockwool cube? And would I need to trellis it to keep it from falling over? And if it's not to much to ask, how about a 6" rockwool cube?

mabe most people use soil , beause its cheaper for nutes and dont have to cool the water and change water every 2 weeks, watch for mold in the house dehumidify the area . to much work money they still take 8 to 10 weeks to flower so whats the advantage ?

Ya, I'm not into hauling bag after bag of soil in and then finding a way to get rid of it afterward, along with the pests it brings into the house. But thanks for responding, I was starting to think I had a booger hangin out my nose and everyone was avoiding me.

my advice, get a tape measure out and look online at pot sizes.

my second bit of advice, is pick a media, that is user friendly, hydroton is an okay choice at best i would try some side by side comparisons if this is your first go around.

So what do you suggest instead of hydroton? I was thinking of starting with that because I have a bunch already, would only have to get the pots (I'm thinking the 6x6x7 square pots btw). Thanks!!

Your in the hydro section. You may want to go somewhere else. If you dont know the advantages of hydro over soil. You may want to try a hydro grow sometime. YIELD! would be one advantage.

Tallen I use 6x6x7 square pots. I also use hydroton. I like hydroton, alot of ppl dont. I use it because I believe it allows more gas exchange in the root zone,as you can flood more often. 3x aday for me, if rockwool cube 1x aday, and algae if not covered well.
With a 6x6 pot I fit 15 per 2x3 table (4/sq.ft) single cola sog. I do two trays under 1 1000watt. Plants do well up to 3feet in my 6x6 pots. hydroton is a bitch to clean, I have to be honest.

Cool, thanks for the info. I've got some hydroton drying in foil oven pans right now-read that 1/2 hour at 450 in the oven and they're good to go so i'm gunna try it. Got to be better than the soak and rinse (repeatedly) thing I've been doing!

^^^^^^ you may still want to rinse them after the bake, just to rid them of dust created form the drying process.
