Don't take me on it but I could of sworn I remember hearing that Milwaukee made a good meter. For the price I would buy it but I already spent what I could this week on my grow supplies. lol. Ill be book marking that though.

Also ec and ppm are pretty much the same thing. One is used to determine the other. It would have been a better deal if it was ph,temp, and tds.

True but I have an infrared temp measure thing from radioshack I found so as long as my temps stay between 68-78 ill be happy so with this specific meter the sm802 in order to get ppm dont i have to convert using math with ec and tds or something?

I have been using one for about 2 years. Don't totally submerge the probe and you should be good.
It is much better than the cheap ones.

tds (total dissolved solids) measures out in ppms which is what you are looking for

That's a good deal for that price. I have had good luck with Milwaukee meters in the past.

Converting ec using .7 conversion (which most people here go by)

    1 ec = 700 PPM
    2 ec = 1400 ppm
    .5 ec = 350 PPM

    ...

Its a very nice piece of kit. Just be aware that when it becomes time to replace the probe, you need to get the original one.
Separate ph and ec meters have the advantage that you can use any cheap replacement probe.
