Default Nute Question

I am going to be starting flower next week and right now I'm doing a trickle/drip system. I wanted to know if I should just be feeding it balanced 5.5ph water for a few weeks and start off with light nutes and work up. Or should I just start it at what the nutrient calculator says as Week 1? Should I also replace my hydrocks before flowering or can I keep them in the rocks they are in now? Any help would be appreciated, thanks RIU.
