Default Any one have a Really good read on PH?
Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has or knows of a really good read on PH.

I have read Earls Hydro 101 thread and a few othere threads.

But I seem to have a lot of conflicting infomation.

I'm running DWC in tap water and i'm going threw a lot of PH down, normal I think. But I have also read that I can stablise it by getting the nute strenth right? haven't managed that yet, and I would really like to read a bit more about how to do it.

Thanks.

are you using a ppm meter >? if you had one then you could check ph and ppm all at the same time and then you could just make it the same from then on I also have a DWC and run at 5.9 ph so unless you have a high nute mix you are gonna have to keep using alot of the ph down

There's a good description of pH and how it works in the sticky thread Hydroponics. This will take you to that post:

Thanks.

I do have a PPM meter, I have been making charts to watch how it moves up and down, (Always down at the moment), I have been topping up with plain water which always lowers PPM and raises PH, but I have also been couculating that into my chart reading.

This time Using Canna.

I started off with an EC Rating of 1.3, and although it did slowly drop, I think that it was too high, leaves started to curl at the ends.

I'm also working on using rain water, but I am still wating for the requred PH ballencing chemicles. I gess I may find it easyer to control that.

That is the best reason to use RO.

It will be cheaper to use RO,
than using all that acid.

Get on ebay, and get a $100-200 RO machine.
The only way to hydro.
