If I had tap with a ppm of 220 I would be so happy. That isn't the ideal range but still good and not realy worth deciding on RO. I would go with it.

I would personally use filtered water with a ppm of next to 0. I was using well water until I got a ppm pen and the water by itself tested at 425ppm. I have noticed a huge growth difference using filtered water.
my tap ppm is between 150 and 200, my plants are fine.

Mine is 270, keep in mind tap water has things the plant needs. Cal, mag, all kinds of shit. Just make sure it doesn't have chlorine. You can get swimming pool test strips at Walmart and check for chlorine. If you do you have chlorine just let water sit out for 24hrs but with low of ppm in your tap your probably cool...good luck
