    Default Is this lady healthy?

Greetings to all of my RIU friends and family. Two weeks ago, I made the switch from soil to hydro. My son, a friend of his and I have an Ebb&Flow system. We've got 6 plants growing in the tent, (first attempt at hydro...don't want to screw up too many seeds). We're obviously quite excited. Today marks the end of week 2 of our grow. We've got 3 - "White Widows", 1 - "Kandy Kush", 1 - "Purple Haze" and 1 - "Auto Cheese". And so far, so good. Except for the Purple Haze. It's drooping a little bit, and is showing some yellow spots on the leaves, (over watering...not enough nitrogen?). I'm posting 2 pics of her and 2 White Widow pics. Any help, info or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

Though we've made the plunge to hydro, I still have 1 - "Auto Northern Lights Blue" growing in soil. And she is looking wonderful!!!! Anyway, thanks in advance for your input. (The first 2 pics are the Purple Haze. The other 2 are White Widow.) I've also added a pic of my Auto Northern Lights Blue.

What kind of lights do you have...and there is no reason to feed them yet...I also see you have a little touch of powdery mildew, so I have to ask if you have already been feeding them..because nute stress opens plants up to all manner of other issues.
I apologize for my incessant rambling, but if you are patient there is inner hidden wisdom in most of my posts...Like playing literary "Where's Waldo."--------------- See, it's fun!

We've got a metal halide for veg and a HPS for flowering. We are feeding them, according to the instructions from their "Manual" and as per the salespersons advice. What you see on the leaves is not mildew. Rather, it's the dried water/nute mixture that lightly splashes and dries on the plants. They're growing like fiends. Not showing any signs of stress or trouble....except for the Purple Haze. Root systems are developing nicely. Just wondering if the Haze's sativa "factor", (it's the only sativa of the group), has anything to do with it.......(Did that make sense?)...lol

You're right. That's not powdery mildew. It's salt buildup from overnuting. Flush those suckers and back off to a milder nute concentration. And flush at regular intervals to minimize the buildup in the future.

And no, your lady is not healthy.

Hey lordjin....I truly do appreciate your insight. However, this setup is 2 weeks old. We flushed last night. It's NOT salt buildup from overnuting. There's a little bit of water that sprays from the empty baskets we have in the troughs. It's simply the water/nute mixture misting and drying to the plants. They're growing at a rapid rate and root systems are developing nicely. I appreciate any help or information that can be of use to us in our grow. But I've been growing for quite a few years, and I know that a lot of people believe themselves to be an "expert". If you've got legitimate input...great. It's appreciated. But in this case, what you offered as advice is incorrect. I'm not trying to be a jerk....just saying that I didn't just get off the boat. You obviously didn't look very closely at the pics....particularly the pics of the White Widows. There's nothing wrong with them. But thanks for your input.
PS: We're only into week number 2 and using half strength on the nutes.....nice guess though.

AND, if I were to accept your hypothesis, then these plants are not healthy either........Right??????

And here's a pic that I just took of the Purple Haze. She's looking much better......or I am wrong about that too?????????

IMG167.jpg And this is only 6 hours after the pic I originally posted of the Purple Haze!!!

Boy, talk about asking for opinions and getting all defensive as soon as you get one.

Hey, that's just my opinion. You're free to disagree. But that plant is showing signs of slow nutrient absorption / lockout.

And who said anything about being 'an expert?'

I wasn't being defensive. I was looking for advice and you evidently didn't look at the pics I put up or what I wrote. What you see on the leaves is not Mildew. Since we don't have all of the spaces in the troughs filled with plants, we get some spraying into the air of the water from our reservoir. What you see in the pics is simply the water/nutes, in a dry form on the leaves. Given that we started out the nutes at half the recommended amounts, there is/was no lockout going on. I was asking for advice....not an opinion. I appreciate the concern you showed in your post, and again, I meant no ill will toward you.

In the meantime, here are a few pics of our ladies which were taken just moments ago.

why would you not close those empty holes? keep the nutes in the system, not spraying out. work clean.
