Hellraizer knows whats up, h202 is the tomahawk missile of anti-pathogens, bleach (which i never had to resort to) is the Napalm. h202 at 3 ml to the res every 3 days, 1ml everyday with top off. Rinse and clean with 15 mls of h202 every week, run plain water with 15 mls of h202 for 3 hours, rinse and re-boot with nutes. that all it took for me. i had some nasties despite of being under 68 degrees res, 75 ambient, with two stones per 5 gallons, and i swore on dm zone. wasn't Pythium, but it was similar, my girls are happy as a clam...."2-3 minutes", sure dude.

oh, and keep the zone, take the Zyme back (been there, done that, lost the crop anyway), and never go back to that freakin shop cause they raped you. Any one with basic knowledge knows all that stuff together is extreme overkill.

Chlorinated tap water works best for pythium. If I get an outbreak I change the resevoir every three days with chlorinated tap water, it works every time. The high production, commercial greenhouses (fruits and veggies) all use chlorine and chlorine alone to deal with pythium. H202 works, but not as well as chlorine.

Also, "floating white stuff" doesnt really sound like pythium. And with the nutrient soup your cooking you could be adding to the problem.

your 100% right just seems people are more apt to use H202 over adding bleach! I offer H202 as a option most of the time due to the fact
it works. but bleach is a win all, if the levels added are right. pool shock also is a good sorse of chlorine. just seems chlorine/bleach/pool shock
    doesnt get the credit!

I had root rot on my 1st grow and hygrozyme took care of it. I tried h202 before i tried the zyme and it did not work for ME. As far as bleach goes I wouldnt even consider putting bleach in my rez but I have never tried it so maybe it does work.

To each his own. I grow medicine. therefore I try to keep it as clean and as natural as possible. Hygrozyme is omri listed and a certified organic product.

I am not a total newb. I have been growing for about 2 1/2 years and harvest a crop every 2-3 weeks. I have learned everything I know by reading and trial/error. I used to post on RIU a lot but there are a lot of young bucks that seem to know it all and all they want to do is argue. That has driven me away for the most part but I still lurk and try to help someone out when I can.

I am from the D too. If you want help from a fellow patient feel free to PM me.

i am also curious about this, i had a bad algae prob thats been raping my plants in the ass, but i finally found the light leaks which was causing this. the h202 did work for me in killing the algae in the res but didnt do anything for my aeroponic unit itself (pvc and sprayers) i had to take it all apart and use bleach water and scrub real good. anyway i would say to take care of ur problem, check ur roots for rot. if they dont look nice and white or at least healthy and arent growing u should cut them off(the deal ones)also, when i do this i dip in a rooting hormone . make 100000% sure there is not even one light leak because with water+nutes+good light= algae= pythium. and make sure ur temps are in range and u should be okay

as long as you do 7 eye droper drops per gal. of plain uncented bleach you will be safe. add back every three days with bleach, and you
cant taste it or affect the burn either.

Looks like I'm gonna give some bleach a try. It seems to be not going away. Thanks for the help Hellraizer.
I think I'm gonna go with coco in my future runs.

My res temp is 64-69 degrees and my box temp gets to about 76-78 degrees during its hottest time. I'm not liking this hydro upkeep. I hate not succeeding at something, this is getting frustrating.
