Lucas works well for many people, thousands of documented grows, it's idiots that don't know what Lucas is and don't hunt down the original posts that have isseus. Lucas's guru pH invented the formula, which is actually based on Mel Franks targets from his book Marijuana Horticulture, it's NPKM 100 100 200 60, you can use Hydrobuddy to calculate your own formula with that target and your own sourced nutrients, at a fraction of the cost of buying them, but really if you want Lucas in one shot, get FloraNova at 7 ML a gallon to LOW PPM RO ONLY, if your PPM is high after you RO then you're going to have to add more filters or Lucas will fail for you.
Recirculation is a bad idea for several reasons, firstly plants excrete hormonal waste, this is usually filtered out in nicer systems. Another reason it's a bad idea is that Cannabis is a hunger feeder and will strip mine your reservoir seeking what it needs, in effect eventually EVERYTIME it will destroy the ratio, and at which point it will cause lock outs and other issues, this is why it's recommended by several people I initially didn't listen to, to either a) drain to waste, b) dump your reservoir every week. I was doing two weeks per reservoir change and have seen in my own personal research of \various peoples threads that it does benefit to dump every week, and draining to waste is even better, however there is issues with the runoff and what to do with it. personally I say if you go that route give it to your compost pile and if you don't have one be responsible and start one.
