creating co2 using baking powder
Hey i know people have used baking soda for ph up has anyone tried using baking powder in there res. to create carbon dioxide.....beings that is what baking powder is designed to do? ill mix some up and see what it does to the ph?

whoa, there. that's a very bad idea. first: baking soda is requires an acidic catalyst to release the CO2, like white vinegar. you cannot just pour some in water and get CO2.
second, CO2 is absorbed thru the leaves, not the roots. there are a few known forest trees (and they have to be VERY old) which can uptake CO2 thru their roots, but they are the exception.
i have experimented with vinegar drip systems on to baking soda for CO2 release but it is messy. and the drip needs to be regulated exactly for an efficient release. i have found it to be more work then yeast & sugar water method and more work then is worth it.
