That's a little high and yes it's counted. You might have to use nutes made for hard water or filter your water.

Seems the rule of thumb is to never use tap h2o over 200ppm... This is more important when they are young and you put fresh clones in to idle and root at 250-350 for the first week...

If your tap water is 700 ppm, rest assured there are plenty of water sources available in your area. Look for water machines outside at grocery store entrances and at some Walmarts. My tap water is near 400 and I consider it nasty to drink. Stores around here sell lots of water. Plus if your neighbors also have 700 ppm water, they will not be suspicious watching you carry lots of water from vehicle to house. I bring in about 10-15 gallons a week. I always joke around about terrible city water when I check out with 10 gal of water in my cart. I always complain about city water to neighbors, even joking about how I wouldn't water my grass or plants with it.

Little do they know, the part about plants is not a joke.... LOL

I guess my point is, if everyone near you has 700 ppm water, buy an RO filter or just buy water.

In most cases you don't count the ppm of the water since most of that is contaminents and unknown salts...if you want to know exactly whats in your water most cities provide water analysis either on your citys' website or the company's website that provides your area with water....in your case I would go with RO water as mentioned before because those ppm levels are pretty high.....here is a link to a pretty affordable ro systems...http://www.purewaterclub.com/

Do yourself a favor and invest in R/O as many previously have mentioned.
You will be glad you did with tap water like you have presently.

Make your own. Self explanatory, steps you through each phase based on your needs.
Very cost effective compared to retail store units and work excellent, my fav by far.

Be sure to have a reliable ec/tds/pmm meter as well. Calibrate often and you will be golden.
