hey would this be a good hydroponic soil setup to grow from veg to harvest? im wondering because, and i know u've heard it before, but im tight on space and am designing a grow space of about 1ftx2ftx3ft. but is this enough room for the plants to grow about 2ft tall and still have a healthy root system? any comments are appriciated. thanks

The system looks great!! Another good system is Emily's hydro garden which offers two more areas to grow and doesn't add that much additional space. You really don't need too much space unless you are looking to grow pounds at a time. My only suggestion is to use organic starter plugs instead of rockwool cubes because the you do not need to soak the starter plugs overnight like rockwool. Also what kind of lighting are you using?

You should have plenty of room to set up two grow rooms, a mother/clone room below and a flowering room above. I would shoot for a system that would allow for such a set up.

You are doing the right thing by asking questions - plan and set up the entire grow room before you introduce your plants.

The bottom clone/mother room can be illuminated with four to eight 20w fluorescent bulbs and take up the bottom three feet of the area. The top part of the garden is reserved for flowering.

Growing plants in a flood and drain bed using 4-inch rock wool cubes or small one-gallon containers allow small plants to be packed very closely together. If you add one or two clones every few days to the flowering garden, you can also harvest one or two plants every few days.

thanks guys. i plan on having a small 100 watt hps for flowering. i was wondering, if i use rockwool, do i put the rockwool cubes directly into the system, and just pump up the nutes as they start growing? any comments appriciated.
