i keep mine at 5.8 i use Botanicare's lineup of Pure Blend Pro. I also balance ph after adding nutes cause my nutes drop the ph from 7 to 6 when i add them. just a little more ph-down and im right at 5.5-5.8. Let me throw this out there. Ive been using molasses for a week or soo an it kept jacking my ph up EVERY day from like 5.1-6.5 in a couple hours. So i said fuck the molasses and went and picked up some Botanicare Sweet. Now I only need to adjust my ph once every couple days, if that. Just wondering if anyone has ran into the same problem with molasses.

hmmm I use the same nutes and my pH stays the same, maybe a couple points off but not much

but i was using molasses at the time. my ph never fluxed when i didnt use the molasses. i used it and my ph went crazy.

i would start at 5.5 to germ, i dont add nutes until i see sets of true leaves, then stay fom 5.8 to 6.0 i dont know who said 7. and i would'nt take there advice, ya, i said it. let see some plants with a ph of 7.0 5.5 2 6.5 6.0 being ideal but wtf do i know

Yes, the molasses that I use causes the pH to rise unlike any other time. I've altered my use of the stuff because of it, I now add it to the res, and let it churn in the res for 12 hours, then adjust pH and use it.

I'm using Sweet now, too, and I haven't noticed any difference yet. I will try Sucanat next.

The optimal pH level for hydro is the high 5's. And yes, for later in flowering, the P and K are better around pH 6.0.
