Default First grow ebb/flow problem. Plant not happy.
Hi guys. Need a little help with my first grow.

I run a 5 bucket ebb/flow pod system shown in pic. 400w of T5 is used. 25 gal res.

I have one plant left alive. I think the starin is 'purple daddy' but I could be wrong. Her sisters turned brown and died. They were transplanted early w/ very little root growth. The survivor had very good root growth when trasplanted. 'Survivor' was in a bubble cloner for 21 days. I kept it in the cloner hoping the other plants would catch up and show better root growth. They never did. I transplanted them anyway and now they are all dead.

So, I have one plant left. This plant has been in veg now for about about 15 days. The problem now is the leaves are droopy and the edges are turning brown. If you see the first pic, yuo see a leaf that turned completely brown. The edges were like that when I transplanted. Then, the browness ate the entire leaf. This has bee an ongoing problem. I am worried what has started on the edges of the new growth will kill the whole leaf.

The 2nd pic shows the plant today. Why are the leaves that droopy? They are chillin in hydroton (no rockwoll or anything). I started by flooding 4 times a day. My ueducated guess was that it is overwatered. So, I cut it to 3 times a day and it perked up a little, but not alot. Should I cut waterin to 2 times? I never ehard of that little unless rockwool was used. Anything else causing this droopness? They have been droopy since they sprouted out of the stem.

Nutes:
BC Grow boost/grow/b1. I started really week, 100ppm.. The plant showed no growth so I upped to 400.. It had a little new growth, but not much at all. 6 days ago I upped the nutes to 800ppm. I see more new growth, including some root. The PH is pretty solid at 5.8.

The plants run in an AC environment and runs 75-80 degress when the light is on. With light off, it can drop to mid 60's. I did have a couple days where my environment failed and they hit 95-105 degrees for a few hours. Res temp is always right aruond 68-72.

So, my questions are the following:
1- What is that bowness that starts at the tips, and eventaully takes over the entire leaf?
2- Why so droopy? Still a watering schedule issue?
3- Any other suggestion?

Thanks guys. Appreciate the help.

hm, i have the same type of setup with 4 plants.

i fill/drain my pots about 7 times a day. 8/10/12/2/4/6/8. 15 minutes to fill/soak and about 3-4 minutes to drain. i was only watering them 4 times a day but they told me they wanted more water. how long does it take to completely fill, how long do u have the roots soaking, and how long does it take to completely drain? How far does the water come up in your pots?

I mean u couldnt be burning them at only 800ppm cause mine ive always ran around 1000+ ppm when they start getting bigger. and your ph is spot on. so im kinda stumped in that area. it could be salt buildup, the flux in ur temps(but it shouldnt do that, but 105 is pretty damn hot), or some type of deficency. thats the only thing i can guess. any more variables that u think it could be?

It takes about 60-90 seconds to fill the buckets.. And about 90 seconds to drain. I flood for 10 minutes at a time. Yea, from reading here it looks like Hydroton only should water more than 3 a day. But it seemed to respond to 3x a day? The water comes up to about 2" below the rock line.

It only hit the high temps 2 or 3 times in it's life. The last time was a couple weeks ago. But no, I have no other ideas on what is wrong.

yeah hydroton fills and drains so fast ive noticed u need to have a more frequent watering cycle to keep the roots moist. exactly what nutes are u using right now
