Res Temps

i think you have it right on the money cause if the res temp is to cold than it will shock the plant. i usually had mine at 68-70

TH - Go to a pet store and pickup an aquarium heater... like $30 bucks. Makes it really easy to regulate the res temp.

the only time the resevoir temp matters is when you are watering. Are you watering at night when the temp is down??

30.00 a heater x 10 tubs isnt the way i wanna go. i was just wondering if any1 knew how much the temps in the res can drop at night without causeing shock.mine have moved as much as 10 degrees (from 67 down to 57). they havent showed any signs of shock yet, but id like to know whats safe.
i havent had to add water yet.(small plants in big res's) i change out the nutes/water 1 time a week. and that water level doesnt drop more than 1/2" in that week.

does that mean u have 10 air pumps???can u post some pics????i have no clue how u set up ur system but 10 bubblers sound wicked...anyway its Winter here aswell (cold as fuck about -2º outside) the water runs from the tap at around 16º and i havent had any probs with the girls so far...never got temp shock EVER...so unless u´re using really cold water or u have the tubs on a really cold floor, water temp shouldnt be a prob.

I would get one or two layers of the underlayment for wood floors. At Depot stores its like blue and rather thin but 'foamy'. Lay that under the the tubs and it should help insulate from cold floor. I would LOVE to see this setup!

thanx yall, yes i have a 10 tub bubbler setup, but its not near as impressive as it sounds. ill get some pics as soon as the lights come back on.
its 8, 25 gallon rubber made tubs 6 plants in each (4 for veg and 4 for flowering), and 2, 15 gallon tubs that are made to store junk under your bed that have 12 plants in each.
this is my first run at hydro so its not all up and running yet.i just took a ton-o-clones that im waiting to see whats female. once i get that done it will all be running.

ok heres a few pics from the clone/veg area. in the first pic you can see 1 of the 15 gallon tubs (12 plants in each 15 gallon tub x 2 tubs lit by 4, 4' floros). i just use those for clones that just have just started to have roots comeing out of the rockwool. they will stay in that tub as long as the roots dont start to tangle.
then they go into 1 of the bigger 25 gallon tubs (6 plants per tub x 4 tubs lit by 8, 4' floros) for vegging. i keep those tubs in a 6'x3'x3'(LxWxH) cabnet where i can control the temps alil better.
once they have vegged to a good size and got plenty of clones i drain the tubs completely and just slide the plants tub and all into my flowering area(lit by 2, 1000watt hps). i take the 4, 25 gallon tubs that had flowering plants in that just got harvested back to the veg cabnet and start all over.
the last paragraph is what i hope will happen.(i havent made it that for with this grow yet). i will start the flowering room in 1 week.
anywhoo, yall see or know of anything i might run into probs with? this is still all new to me so any help would be great. ive been working the bugs out of this setup from day 1, and there has been quite a few. but so far so good.
