hey all.
i just got a dig. ph tester (used) and need to know how to calabrate it.
Its says i need some type of solution or something. Any help would be good.

you need a buffer solution that is set at a specific Ph. it depends on who the manufacturer of the Ph meter is as to the Ph that your meter needs to calibrate.

Yep, call a local or order off the internet and ask for pH calibrating solution for your make and model of tester. It will come in a bottle or sachet (packs). Just dump some in a cup, turn on the calibrater, swirl the tip in it and let it set. While the tip is still in the solution, you must use your small screwdriver (if it came with one) and adjust the meter to what the solution number you are using is.

Make sure you rinse off the bulb and don't jar and drop it too much. Whatever you do, don't drop the tester in the water. That sucks ass. Hope this helps.

The Man. is Hanna instruments and the unit is pHep 1, I will look on line later or maybe the local pet store might have it.
IF anyone has any info on this unit that would be great.

Doesn't seem to be a bad little unit. Just don't forget to buy the calibrating solution for it. I have a Hanna pH tester that shipped with my unit and seems to be doing great. That company has been around for quite a long time. Here are a couple of links for you...I don't know which model # you are getting though.

I believe that uses a two-point calibration, so you want to calibrate it to 7.0 pH and 4.0 pH. You will need the 7.0 and 4.0 buffer solutions.
