One minuite on, four minutes off cycle is whats recomended.
I go 4 min on and 20 min off. It works fine.

This is the one I would get:

C.A.P. NFT-1e CAP preset cycle timer 1 min. on 4 off - Its about 65 bucks.

or for about 20 bucks more is the ART DNE, which is more adjustable..but the damn knobs always move so you got to duct tape them down. (I have this one , and I set my pumps for 1 min on, 5 minutes off ) This allows for maximum oxygen, and gives it all the nutrients it needs.

Stinkbuddies.com is a great DIY system
