I posted this thread this morning but accidently put it in indoor growing when i meant to post it in the hydro forum..

I just got a control wizard tri meter.

I am sure I am just doing something wrong but I can't get ph calibrated to save my life.

I put the ph meter in ph 7 solution and it reads 9.20. I try to adjust the screws but they dont turn far either direction and I can get the reading down to 8.00 or so but never close to 7.

I then put the meter in ph 4 and it goes to 6.30. Same issue I can turn the screws to get to around 5.20 or so but never close to 4.

The manual says if you cant get it calibrated to turn the screws as far as they will go clockwise and the 1/2 back counter clockwise to reset the screws. That doesnt seem to be helping.

Any help will be really appreciated.

You could just subtract 2.2 from your reading.

Yeah good point. That is what I was thinking about doing. I just hoped I could get it working the way it should. Maybe its the meter but its brand new or at least they said it was. Problem is I got it off ebay so if the meter is bad I am screwed. Thanks for the idea.

Are you using distilled water to calibrate the meter? Did you read this? http://www.cwpmeters.com/downloads/2...tor-042408.pdf

By the way, it is totally unnecessary for what we are doing to calibrate to 4.01, 7.01 is enough. We don't care about even .1 let alone .01.
