ok so here is the break down i have had many successful gurilla grows and smoked far too much weed in my life time but never untill now have i been able to attempt to grow hydroponics. (to many issues wit privacy and space.) but now a lovely lil private space has become available. Its very small and i only want to grow for myself as a hobby the space i have available is 2foot (half a meter) by 3 foot (1 meter) and 6.5 foot high. (2 meter) i know its extremely tiny but its an experiment in a cubord. Here is my ideas i am open to any input as it is my first hydroponics grow im thinking of useing the nft system unless someone advises me otherwise with a 250w hps lamp and hydroton as a grow medium the nutrients are a store bought liquid pre mix and the seeds i have available to me are all feminised hence the fact i don mind only growing one i have nyc diesel or white rhino to grow. I thinking about using nyc diesel. The regular things that cause problems 4 most(cops with infared cameras, high electricity bills. And light leaks and smell) are not an issue where i stay what is an issue is the space i have so before i start this project i would like an opinion from someone who has superior know how in the field of hydroponics to give me some pointers. I would say your biggest problem will be heat, too much of it from the lights in the small space. Plan for that with some an setup, and perhaps AC in the room outside the closet so the air being sucked in is cool. You can grow 4 plants to maturity in there but it might get cramped so plan ahead instead of trying to work through a jungle.

when you say a bubble bucket or two do u mean the ones iv seen that take like 6 plants? Or buckets that hold 1?

instead of using your light you can always use cfls. it would really help a lot with heat

i would love to move away from hid lighting and use cfls but my fear comes wit the fact that iv heard everyone talking about how cfls are not on par wit hid when it comes to flowering is there any way around this. (use many many more Or how can this be corrected or compensated 4?)

You need to read Roseman's tutorial. He uses cfl's exclusively and yes there are a lot of them. With cfl's you can get the lights closer to the buds. It's an alternative to equipping the room to handle the heat. I veg with cfl's and fire up a 250 or 400 wwat HPS for flower but your space needs to be able to handle the heat. You can go with a simple bubble bucket or the bubbleponic system whichever works for your space.

ok i read rosemans tutorial i now have another question will 9 double flurecent lights the long tube one mounted on the walls and 2 of the same just shorter hanging above be good enough if i use warm and cool white together. So in total it will be 22 flurecent bulbs 4 shorter ones and 18 long ones. The only reason i ask is because the cfls are only available in 18w or 20w that gay energy saver kind. I really need advice as the only thing holding me back now is the lighting iv already decided im gonna use two bubble buckets and grow 2 plants in hydroton and iv decided to grow nyc diesel.

That should work just fine! Use 60-70% cool whites for veg and 60-70% warm whites for flower.
