Default DWC, AERO, or AERO/NFT???
Hello all! I've been reading and reading about DWC, AERO, and AERO/NFT. I was curious if anbody has done some controlled experiments with the 3? Has it been determined if there is a difference between them regarding quality, growth rate, and yield? Also, is there a major difference between aero and aero/nft? Any information would be greatly appreciated! THANKS

This is quoted from Stinkbud's "Harvest a pound every three weeks!" thread in reference to aeroponics' advantages.

"Think of it this way...the plant breaths in Oxygen through its roots and out through its leaves. So imagine yourself a plant and let's do a test:

1) Dig a hole in some dirt. Stick your head in it and fill it back up. Now take a deep breath. This is what growing in soil is like.

2) Now fill a container with water and stick your head in it. Oh yea, don't forget to add some air stones first. Now take a deep breath. This is DWC.

3) Now just take a normal deep breath. This is Aeroponics.

Am I getting my point across?"

Of course if that were really true plant life would never have evolved on the earth . Plants can do well in all three. Chances are you will try more than one sooner or later anyway so just pick one and start gaining experience.

Default Yes---
true aero is the most effective method for growing any plant.

I liked the anology given above about the different methods.

But make no mistake------aero done right----- is the most costly way to set up----but after setup----the ease of operation is invalibe ( to me anyway).

Yes, they can, but they grow fastest in aero. No argument whatsoever as to how plant life evolved. Luckily for us as humans, we can manipulate a plants environment and from my research and personal opinion, aeroponics takes the cake.

Fine mist or squirters, the basic idea of aero culture is to squirt or mist nutrient-rich solution directly onto exposed roots suspended in mid air.

Default what I mean by done right---
1) the proper size pump for delivery to your roots----i like micro jet sprayers tapped into 1/2 pvc inside 6" pvc tubes.

2) nute temp is critical and can become very costly when adding chillers in a show with several 1Ks in a hot climate---- only compounds design requirements.

In other words----every parameter is well within bounds----that's what I mean by "done right"-----been there---got the T-shirt.

When the plants genetics are the weakest link for maximum production----you have arrived.

Alaric, when you mention "micro jet sprayers" are you refering to the "E-Z cloner" sprayers that STINKBUD uses or different ones. If so could you post a pic or link to them? THANKS
